Microsoft Works - pasting shortcut icons

  davfran 09:47 26 Dec 03

IS it possible to paste a shortcut icon into a works word processor document? I have used insert object, chosen 'bitmap image' and ticked 'show as icon'.

What appears in the docmunet is just a placeholder with something like wuxxxx.lnk.

Try this. 'Edit', 'Paste Special', 'Display as an icon', then 'Change Icon' then 'Browse' to the location where the icon is stored.

No 'paste special' appears on the menu and the 'undo, cut, copy, paste and clear' options are all greyed out.....?

Sorry, I though Works came with Word. Have you got the option to insert object and 'Create from File' with 'Display as an icon'?

Only as I stated in my first post.

You'll have to select something to Copy first.

Have tried that too. Doesn't work.
