microsoft word 2007 - opening with own template?

I have recently installed m/s Word 2007. I have created a template which has my address etc at the top. When the program opens it still opens with a blank page and I have to go through several clicks to reach the 'address' template.

I would like the address template to open along with the program. Is this possible?

The help files and video training sessions are excellent, but don't seem to help with this.

Many thanks.

Sheila

In other versions of Word, you would save your Template as "Normal.dot" to do what you want. Word 2007 calls Normal.dot "Normal.dotm" (without the quotes), so I imagine if you save your template as Normal.dotm, it will start every time you open Word.

you should save Normal.dotm to the

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\AppData\Microsoft\Templates folder.

As there is one already in there, you'll be asked if you want to replace the existing file, choose Yes.
