Microsoft Update Misleading Muddle

  Steinman 13:14 29 Aug 03

My installation history from the Windows Update page shows - Cumulative Patch for I.Exp6 Serv Pack 1 (822925), Security Update Windows Media Player 7.1,& Direct X 9.0b End-user Routine were all installed successfully. However the Windows update page still shows my pc as needing these updates! The first two shown as critical!
Windows Me Os.
Anyone any ideas? Am I up to date, or am I not?!

Check under IE/Help/About IE and it lists the update versions so you can check whether you've got the IE one, at least.

Well 822925 is not showing!
Have to try again then!

There have been several threads over past month or so regarding downloaded updates still being picked up as required by Windows Update in spite of having been downloaded. Several solutions exist including some documented on Microsft Knowledge Base. Suggest you search back to find these threads.
