Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter

In Device Manager it has a ! mark against it indicating a problem, but on double clicking it the Properties General Tab gives a status of "This device cannot start (Code10)"
The Advanced tab offers:- "the following properties are available for this network adapter", Click the property you want to change on the left and them select its value on the right

Under property is Network Address, with on the left Value which is blanc.

Under the drivers tab it offer various options I have selected "find and install new driver", but get a report that the latest driver is installed.

I have no idea what this adapter does but I did disable it and Firefox would not load.
This is the first time I have come across this item, it appears to be unique to Windows 7.

I am running Windows 7 Home 32bit, wired LAN via a Thompson speedtouch wireless router with the wireless disabled.
The LAN appears to working as before, under XP sp3. the other computer on the LAN is an Acorn RiscPC StrongArm. Broadband is shared with both.

Please, what can I do to get this working

I hope the above it not too garbled!
