Microsoft Spyware??? Surely Not ??

My spyware detector (RegFreeze) has found:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\C...\{fdd3b846-8d59-4ffb-8758-209b6ad74acc}

which it says is spyware but my program will not delete it!

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

Not sure about that path you've quoted.

Have you followed it to see what's in there?

Isnt that a registry key?

My apologies it is apparently part of Microsoft money, which I assume you either have installed or have had it in the past.click here

I`ve never heard of Regfreeze but checking the website I suspect you`ve downloaded the free scan software?

  Jackcoms 13:55 18 Jul 06

Ah, ha. Yes, it is.

We need to know what the C.... after Window\ is short for.

Possibly 'Current Version'?

Hi Folks you are all A1 Stars!

Yep, I do have MS Money installed although why this aspect was seen as spyware is beyond me.

Thanx a million

If Regfreeze detects a legitimate MS programme as spyware I suggest you ditch it! Use MS Defender beta and maybe Adaware.

Microsoft AntiSpyware informs me that Real VNC is spyware (two instances).

  Cobber 12:00 19 Jul 06

Sorry - What is 'Real VNC' ?

Like to give MS Defender beta a try.
Where can I get it and is it a virus zapper as well?
I am fed up with Norton.
Cheers
