Microsoft Sam...

I have just found SAM as selected for the computer's default voice on WinXP. I assume this is for reading documents without having to look at the screen all the time. Sounds a good idea! I could probably use something like that!

But, does anyone know of any software which would use such capabilities and where I could find it?

Sounds like the modern title of an old T-Rex hit ;O)

I don't think any special software is needed, just start it up (Hold the windows button and press U), start typing and it'll read out your key presses - providing you've ticked the box next to 'Read Typed Characters'. You can get it to read word documents but I haven't found out how yet! It gets annoying after a while.
