Microsoft Outlook

I posted the following problem a few days ago:

“Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging software. Please reinstall Outlook”

sidecar sid kindly referred me to a Microsoft site which confidently stated that running the applet (?) fixmapi.exe, to be found in Windows/System32, would solve matters. However, despite my saying that the problem had been overcome, it hasn’t. All I get when double clicking fixmapi.exe is that the hourglass displays for a few seconds and then goes off and nothing more happens. I turned my machine off and then rebooted, but still I get the message above.

Your further help please

Didn't see your other thread (a link would have helped) but have you tried Detect and Repair on the Help menu?

Hello VoG™, I'm sorry but although it never crossed my mind to link to my previous post, I don't know how.

Unfortunately, because Microsoft Office Outlook doesn't open 'Detect and Repair' isn't an option.
