did the pc come with with windows xp and office preinstalled and did you get the disks (what make of PC) as this sounds like you have fallen foul of microsofts genuine advantage product valuation which checks to see if the software and the serials for XP and Office are genuine and not generated by a keygen. did you buy the pc second hand or is it brand new from a shop?

I'd contact your PC Vendor to get a fresh product key, as some of the 60 day Office trials ran out in September.

Pop your PC manufacturer into the search box here click here to get a non-premium rate number and ask them for a fresh key.

If it's a new computer you could contact Microsoft on 0870 60 10 100 and choose Home User and then Licencing. You can tell them your problem and they are usually helpful and will issue a new key if appropriate. This problem does actually occur quite often.
