Microsoft Mail

A friend of mine has a Vista Home Premium computer which uses IE7, Windows Mail and Home Office and Student 2007.

The only thing that doesn’t work is the downloading of attachments from Windows Mail. It shows a window saying to go to a control panel and change settings. For the life of me I cannot help him.

Is there anyone out there who can please provide a blow by blow account of what to do?

Try this :

Open Windows Mail and goto "Tools/Options".

Look for the tab which says :

"Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus"

Clear the tick and see if that cures the problem.

Many thanks sebiven. I will get him to try this although it may be a day or so before I can get back to you.

Hi sebiven, Tried what you advised but it did not work. Will have to make a visit and see what I can do. At the moment using a work around by saving in Docs and opening from there. Best regards.
