Microsoft Firewall v ZoneAlarm!

  Daibus 09:14 13 Apr 05

Fitted a new Hard Drive, tried to reinstall Sygate Firewall but for some reason it would not install.

I have SP2 and was wondering if Microsoft Firewall is sufficient to do the job or would you recommend me trying ZoneAlarm... for example?

Many thanks.

I think the majority of forum members would agree with me to Disable the Windows firewall and use ZoneAlarm...:-)

and Ditto again, plus I think I am correct in saying that once you have installed and setup ZA, XP Firewall automatically turns itself off, in favour of ZA. XP firewall does not close all ports, as does ZA, so ZA is the more secure firewall.

Installed ZoneAlarm, will see how it goes and yes, Windows XP Firewall was disabled automatically.

Thanks very much for your advice.
