Microsoft Cumulative Patch

Having just read the recent chat about the Microsoft Update Patch - Worm/Swen.A , can someone confirm that the recent email I received (allegedly from Microsoft) is a hoax/virus?
The email looks official and claims to be from Microsoft and invites me to down load a "September 2003 Cumulative Patch" which will "block all known vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, Outlook and Outlook Express"

It isn't from Microsoft is it?

No, it isn't. Delete it completely from your system.

Too tell you the truth it is the virus that has hit my mailserver over 500 times, let alone only 3 sobigs hit it.

Oddly enough my home e-mail address was only hit by Gibe once, no sobig.

So it is quite a bad virus this.

I would class it a High threat, not a medium one like Symantec say.

Sorry you have been hit - I might have been had it not been for previous chat in this helproom.
