Is there a formula in excel to convert metric to imperial and vice versa ?

It's called the convert function. See MS Excel Convert Function

Make sure you use the correct units if you are converting volumetric and weight units. The American and British are not always the same and will give differing metric conversions.

If this function is not available, and returns the #NAME? error, install and load the Analysis ToolPak add-in.

On the Tools menu, click Add-Ins. In the Add-Ins available list, select the Analysis ToolPak box, and then click OK. If necessary, follow the instructions in the setup program.

All in the Help - press F1 and search on convert
