I've recieved a message suggesting I go to click here for a security patch for Wim Messenger.

Is it genuine?

In view of the fact that you have to pay for it, I would view it with suspicion. It does not appear in the official Windows Update, so I would advise waiting to see what other responses come up on this subject. I just ignored it on the basis that I don't use Messenger anyway.

Delete it immediately. Microsoft would never send such a message. Any patches/updates are always made available via Windows Update.

Many thanks both....

The site appears legit but all they are doing is charging people for MS security fixes which are....free.
