Messages during bootup with Win98SE

I have loaded Win89SE onto a computer after a harddisk change and everything seems to work satisfactorily except for the following. During bootup the P&P detects a PCI Universal Serial Bus, then a Via Tech 3038 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller for which it asks for a driver. After cancelling the request, the same messages appear for a second time. When cancelled again, the P&P next detects a PCI Multimedia Audio Device for which it asks for a driver. When this is cancelled the P&P next detects a PCI Communication Device and asks for a driver. After this has been cancelled the machine loads normally, however the USB sockets do not seem to be active and the Device Manager has a yellow question mark after PCI to ISA bridge. The modem is shown as being installed correctly. Can anyone suggest where the problem lies and how to overcome it?

The USB problem is simple - you need to load the drivers - the Audio issue is probably the same.

The drivers are probably on a CD for the motherboard - if you don't have it, you can normally download them from the motherboard manufacturers sit.

The modem - does it actually work?

Thanks to DIESse the problem has been identified as an incorrect disk for activating the motherboard settings.
