Message text in Outlook Express has vanished

On checking my inbox this morning discovered that all emails had nothing in the message box. This also applied to the outbox. Seems a setting somewhere has been changed but can't think what it might be. Any one any ideas? IE6 and XP Home.
Many thanks.

How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP

Tried to run sfc /scannow but insists I insert XP Professional SP2 CD, which of course I don't have, so couldn't get beyond that.

Anyway, all is not lost. I can still find the body of the messages embedded in Properties/Details/Message source.

Thanks.

I had the same problem and discovered it was AVG email scanning that was the culprit. I disabled that and all was well.

Thanks, musicmike, tried that but made no difference; but AVG could be the culprit. It was installed for the first time a week ago and never had this problem before.

Uninstalled AVG - still the same, so did a system restore and all was OK.
Downloaded and installed Avast! and so far everything is fine.
Many thanks.
