I followed your instructions and my computer now seems to be back to normal. At least my downloading is much better. I have another question. One of the people who answered my cry for help sent me the following and I did what was suggested but nothing really happened and there was no report giving me feedback. This is what he/she sent me: "open my computer, right click on your C drive icon choose properties>tools,
dialog box will open choose error checking, tick both scan drive for errors
and scan for and attempt recovery of bad clusters...the computer will not
perform these actions until it is re-started, and this will take a fair amount
of time..if errors are found the report at the end will let you know..other
possible causes, could be virus, spyware or a failing HDD is it noisy?"
