Menu Bar Headers

A small but irritating problem! The titles on the menu bar (ie, File - Edit - Tools etc) are all displayed with a white background behind the word. Does anyone know how to get rid of this are what might cause it?

Right click desktop, Properties, Appearance tab, Advanced button.

Click on the displayed menu bar (or select menu from the "Item" list) and change "Color 1".

Something changed inadvertently perhaps? Right-click on desktop, properties, appearance, menu, or reset a default colour scheme. No idea what else it might be, except perhaps graphics card driver problems.
