Memory upgrade query

Hi, i have a giabyte GA-MA790X-DS4 motherboard. I recently flashed the bios to the very latest one, which means that it can now take the new AMD AM3 Phenom 2 C.P.U's so i have upgraded the cpu to the AMD PHENOM quadcore 3.2MHz Black edition.i have checked on gigabytes website for the memory support list for this board, and under the list for DDR2 1066 memory (which is what i'm upgrading next) It says this 'AMD AM2+ CPU Limitation DDR2 1066 memory is only supported by 1 dimm per channel' Does this mean that i can only install 1Gb in each slot? I have 4 dimm slots on this mobo

No - it means you can only put one module in each channel - ie you must leave the other slots unused.

Assuming your 4 slots are labelled

Ch1 slot1
Ch1 slot2

Ch2 slot1
Ch2 slot2

Only use the two slot1 sockets

Thanks for answering. My motherboard manual says that they are set out thus- Channel 0: DDR2_1 DDR2_3 Channel 1: DDR2_2 DDR2_4 So does this mean when installing 1066 memory they go into slot 1 & 3 or 2 & 4? also the size either 1GB or 2GB or 4GB memory strips is ok? Also manual says if only 2 memory modules are used that they be installed in the first 2 Dimm slots ? Is the black dragon memory o.k ? I was thinking of buying the Giel 2GB DDR2 1066 Black Dragon Dual memory kit 2x2GB sticks
