I wish to purchase a Memory Stick for my Sony CLIÉ PEG-T675C PDA but,
I'm not sure whether the MagicGate Memory Stick is the same as the normal memory stick.....Help!!!

I need to know as I want to play mp3s & expand the memory capacity of this unit.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Copyright protection is incorporated into the MagicGate memory stick which is the only difference.
What is it?? Ive no idea.

So I can probably use the ordinary memory stick then you think?

Dunno what to do, anyone know for sure that I can use the normal memory stick (and save myself some money in the bargain?)

As far as I know...only sony devices which are able to play back MP3 files will only do so if the music is recorded onto a MagicGate Memory Stick. If mp3 tracks are recorded onto a normal memory stick then the device will not play it. However an mp3 track is also classed as a form of "data" so in theory you can copy the file to a laptop/pc from the normal memory stick and play the file from there.

I probably am wrong..but that is my best guess...
