memory stick problems

I borrowed a memory stick off a friend and as i plugged it in my antivirus (symantec antivirus) told me that a threat was detected so it deleted the offending file. however i then used one of my memory sticks that i've used many times and it said it contained the same threat.

the threat was Ravmon.exe. I tried googling it, but all i could find was to search for the files and delete the corrupt ones but a search of my hard drives showed no results. so i couldnt delete anything.
Is there a simple way of getting rid of it without having to remove it from the registry and reinstall windows?

also i got an ipod but at the moment dont want to connect it incase that i pass on the virus, is this likely?
