Memory Recognition in XP

I have an issue that may be caused by the activation process of XP. I have recently added 256MB of DDR2100 RAM to double my capacity. The system POST recognises the RAM yet XP refuses. Just for added info I am running Athlon @ 1GHz with 512MB DDR2100, GeForce 2 Graphics, 20GB HDD @ UDMA100 all on a V266B board supplied by JetWay.
Any Help appreciated
Regards
Jono

Not sure why XP is not recognising extra memory, but it will not be anything to do with activation. If XP thought you had made a major change, a message would be displayed on screen informing you of this and requesting you to re-activate.

I'm sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction to cure this for you. regards. J.
