Memory Problem

  etlcnes 08:05 06 Jul 06

I have suddenly started receiving the following error message

The instruction at "0x35cd179f" referenced memory at "0x35cd179f". The memory could not be "read"

Click on OK to terminate the program

Does anyone know what could cause the or a way for a NOVICE to check out what might be causing it? It seems to be coupled with my machine running more slowly particularly at start up though I do not have many item set to run at start up.

Machine is Dell Dimension 2400 P4 3.06Ghz 2GB RAM Win XP SP2 with all updates installed

Thanks in advance.

See if this helps or applies to your situation, etlcnes. click here

I also suggest doing the usual spyware and antivirus scans.

I have just downloaded the latest updated from MS and the update from Spyware Doctor and the issue seems to have gone away - anyone else found the same?

This is quite often how it works, ie prev errors corrected by MS in the next updates (of course they can only do this if the probs are reported to them).

Thanks for letting us know.
