I recently added 2x1024mb memory strips making a total of 4x1024mb but when I boot up the memory check shows a total of 3408mb not 4096mb.My motherboard is MSI 7125 3.0 939 AMDslot .
CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200.
When only 2x1024mb were fitted the boot showed 2048mb total.
Belarc advisor profile shows that all four slots have a 1024mb strip fitted but total only 3328mb Why is this?

See this

"Due to the South Bridge resource deployment, the system density will only be detected up to 3+ GB (not full 4GB) when each DIMM is installed with an 1GB memory module"

in the motherboard specs
