Memory misreading in virtual memory

Can anyone answer this question? I looked in System/virtual memoery and it tells me I have -858mb od memory which seems strange as I have a 60 gig hard drive. The computer keeps locking up and I wonder if this could be the cause? I have Windows ME installed.

First port of call, run scandisk beause this could simply be an errot in your file table reading the drive space wrong, this would also cause your pc to lock up.

Second, get a decent opeerating system an burn your windows me disc and most of your problems will be solved ;-)

Spacious thanks for that I know I need to lose ME but the ******* won't load XP or 2000 I have both systems and keep getting stop errors on the dreaded blue screen. I have fdisked the mbr and deleted the partition but still no joy.
