I'm looking for a decent link that explains thememory map in plain english, and what is meant by memory management and how do I determine that my settings are correct and if not how do I sort it out?

A program called "mindmapper 2002" allows you to mind map easily, and can be downloaded (20 megs) and is well worth it.
I have seen it used for teaching concepts at school and seeminly is liked by kids...
