i know this may sound silly i have just installed 2 512 memory cards to my mother board and have got aboue the results i wanted and have a 256 left over, on doing a belarc scan it says
0 512,1 512, 2 empty, 4 empty does that mean i can put the 256 card in to the next available slot?

This depends on the type of memory and your mainboard spec.
Do you have a manual for the mainboard, as these will usually detail how you can populate the memory slots.

Your mainboard is an ASrock board.
Goto click here and you can download a manual.
