memory fills whilst networking!!!!

Hi, im running windows2000 which works fine whilst not connected to anything, i have the system optimized so the minimum of programs run. However as soon as i connect to a LAN, through both my ethernet card and wireless card, the memory will slowly but surely fill up and up until it reaches the max! i have checked running processes/services checked my registry and cannot work it out!!it still does it when firewall is disabled! Please help mee!!

(its win2000 SP4 256mb ram 2GHz athlon)
