Memory compatibility

Hi all, It's time to upgrade my slightly aged Dell desktop, specifically the memory. The mem currently in the Dell is 240 pin DDR2 PC2-4200 (533MHz), I am unable to find 4200 only 5300 or 6400, my question is will either or both of those be compatible with my machine,( I'm replacing the lot so they don't have to be compatible with the originals) also is it possible or indeed beneficial to install faster ram than I have already, e.g.800MHz.

Many thanks

Dave
