I am looking at buying some more memory for my pc, At the moment it has 'CORSAIR XMS2 DDR2 2x1GB 4-4-4-12 MEMORY' in it.
I have seen several second hand 2x1GB sticks on ebay,
but some have 4-4-4-12 timmings and some have 5-5-5-12 timmings.
Is it ok to use both types together, is one faster than the other, what effects will using both types have.
thanks

4-4-4-12 it has to be, 5-5-5-12 is slower.

If you want the least likelihood of issues, get identical sticks to the ones you have. Timing, manufacturer, etc.

Corsair are an excellent grade 1 manufacturer too, so you get the most chance of troublefree running.

Be aware that if you run a 32bit OS (winxp or Vista), not all your RAM will be available to the OS. Somewhere between 3 and 3.5GB, depending on your exact hardware.
