How can I find out what memory to use in an EMachines PC which isn't connected to the net? Normally I'd just go to Crucial and run a scan, but that's not an option. I've had a look inside and it's got 2 slots, one of which has a 512mb module by Dynet in it and I want to upgrade to 1GB,'cos I have a Vista upgrade disc.I'm a bit of a numpty when it comes to memory modules.

I have an old Emachine and upgraded this recently.

I believe it is upgradeable to 2GB using pc 2100,266Mhz

Thats if yours is the same spec as the one i bought.

(Celeron 1.7Ghz cpu)was my old Emachine cpu.

if im right, you might want to consider a bit more ram for Vista, though 512MB will run it and a gig better.
To run Vista best, its advised to have around 2GB though a gig would do.

Thanks guys.
IO got it wrong. It's not an EMachines PC.It's an E-system PC although they're both Dixons, I think.
Tried Belarc, but it doesn't tell me what type of memory it is.
