medion mim2120 ide disabled

I have a Medion MIM2120 notebook with xp. I had a Western Digital wd40gb hd which was failing so i bought a wd80gb hd to put in now i find that in the bios its now telling me the ide is disabled. How do i get around it? the only cd i have is the Medion xp cd that came with it. Thanks

Can you tell us a bit more about the 'IDE is disabled in bios'

Why can't you just enable it in the bios? I presume you connected up the new harddrive before you looked in the bios, it should have been just a straight replacement of hard drive and only needed to alter bios to boot from CD for your install of XP.
