Medion MD8383XL computer memory.

I have a Medion desktop, I think it is called a Titanium 8383 but has the model number MD8383XL and I wish to increase the RAM. There seem to be four memory slots and three of them are populated. System shows 1Gb of memory. I wish to increase this to 2Gb total but I don't know what type of memory or speed. I suspect it is DDR 400. I am confused as I have been told that memory must be installed in two equal modules, i.e. 1 Gb would be two modules, each of 512Mb, so why are there three modules already on the board?
Also what is the maximum amount of memory the board (original Medion) will support?
Finally, does anyone know where I can obtain a full specification for this machine. The user's instruction manual does not contain this information.

I would be most grateful for any information.
