I have played DVD's on my PC before, however, for some reason they now wont play, I have followed the help instructions in media player to no avail. I was going to download a different media player but I cant find a free download. I have been advised it is a codec problem but this is over my head. Any one got a clue

You could try the megacdec pack from click here and follow this posting click here.

This will install Media Player Classic, which is a free medis player and should play anything you throw at it!

Yes it is a codec problem - MS don't include one! You can try adding a DVD codec, as a plug in, but the other suggestions to go for a free DVD player program will be easier.

Try this for your codecs click here

Or try a reinstall of Media player 10 click here
