Hi folks,

I am just off the phone with a new local computer shop and I was pricing a motherboard bundle off them, Novatech is still cheaper. One thing he said did confuse me thou, he said that if I had a computer with Windows XP previously installed and I upgraded the M?B, RAM & CPU I would need to buy a new operating system? Is this ture?

Yes if its an oem copy, no if its a full copy.

An oem copy can only be installed on 1 computer and not transferred, a full copy can be transferred to another computer.

Yes a Restore disc is no good and the Hard Drive is configured for your Old Motherboard, So no good for the new one
