have purchased a Maxtor 200gb hd (diamond maxplus9). I'm running windows ME and cannot get the hd to be recognised.

I've downloaded the Maxtor bigdrive enabler and got a message saying that the registery for my PC is not suitable.

I've found something on the Maxtor website that mentions chipsets...how do I find mine?

Also if anyone knows how to get this HD up and running please can you let me know...many thanks,

Neil

You will need to find out your BIOS manufacturer and version and see if it will accept such a large disk.

also the problem maybe the size of the harddrive, sure WinME only supports upto 120GB drives so you'll need to format and partition this drive if possible,
