Just know this is a dumb question but its getting to me.
Minimize, Restore down and Close buttons.(Vista)
Why do someone screens not open in the maximise position even though they were maximised when last closed down?

How do get them to open maximised?
Some of mine do and some dont.
Win Vista.
Thanks

Try this open the window fully, then close it by going to File> Exit
It should open fully next time

Press restore down make sure no other pages are open.Drag to size that you want .And then press the red X.The next time you open it it should be the same size.

Now then... what do you know.
I've wondered this for ages, it's notepad with me (use it a lot and it always opens as small window).
Just tried both your suggestions, it's the dragging to size that works here :) Thanks

Thanks for help but problem remains.
Tried my notepad and dragged it - but it then opens to the dragged position but not to the fully open state ie still have to press maximise.
Two other programs still open in a condensed state despite suggestions.

Right Click on the I/E icon. Properties. And across from run make sure maximized is in the dropdown bar.Apply.Ok
