Maximised IE window slightly offset

I don't know what I've done, but when I maximise my Internet Explorer window now, the window is slightly offset. The window is set down about half an inch lower than normal. This means that I can see the top of the desktop above the window & the bottom of the window disappears off the screen. I can't even see the status bar when I activate it. I thought it might have been caused by spyware but running Ad-aware hasn't solved the probelm. How can I rectify this now? Thanks in advance.

Close all but one IE window. Click the Restore Down button (just to the left of the X). Drag the sides of the window to fill the screen. File/Close (not the X).

It turns out that the problem was due to spyware afterall. I used Spybot S&D to scan & removed some stuff. Afterwards, the IE window was normal again.
