Is it safe to use any Magic Marker/felt tip to write on CD-Rs or should I only use the "specalised" ones as sold by PC World/maplins etc?

Personally I use the permenant ones that are for writing on OHP acetate does the job for me

Be careful using solvent based marker pens (the smelly ones) on CDs and DVD. The solvent can penetrate the top layer of the disc and affect the reflective surface. It's unlikely that this would happen but, if your discs are valuable, better safe than sorry.

I use the ones from PC World, only a couple of pounds for four different colours. I think some of the normal felt tips can bleed through and spoil the image on the CD but the type used by Completealias will be fine as well.
