malware/adware programs

I have Ad-Aware and Threatfire on my system (Xp). Do I really need both or can I get rid of one ? I was thinking of deleting Threatfire as the malware problems could be dealt with by Ad-Aware and virus issues are already covered by AVG.
Any suggestions ?

If this is what you here and you also have AVG Anti-Virus you have ! to many.It is recommended that you only run 1 anti-Virus program.Ad-Aware on its own is not sufficiant you want to add A Squared or something of that nature. There are loads of good freebies out there.

Threatfire can be run alongside other AV software with no problem (click here).
I've not tried it but it seems to occupy the area between AV and anti-spyware and protects against both to some extent. If Threatfire has found something that neither of your other packages have then it might be worth keeping, but as buteman says it's recommended to have more than one anti-spyware program available (if not running as a resident program) to scan with installed. click here
