making nvidia drivers work with vista

someone please help...
i have installed a nvidia 6200 card... i had already an onboard 64 mb card...and the thing is that i'm losing out on the aero feature of vista and also no videos(any format) can be played on my machine...

still has no effect....the aero theme won't apply and nor does the nvidia control panel respond to anything....HEELLLLp!!

Check your bios that it is recognising your new graphics card.

You may have to disable the onboard graphics but normally this happens by default.

Make sure you fully uninstall the driver and reboot. Then install the new driver. If you have already been doing this then try the BETA driver from Nvidia click here It is up to 175.12 dated April 28 2008

the latest beta driver is also not working...the nvidia control panel does not respond to any click whatsoever!

What monitor are you using? Do you have any monitor software installed?

Are you installing the drivers as the system administrator? You need to right click on the graphics driver download and select "Run as Administrator". Re your BIOS - if you have onboard graphics then the setting you are looking for is something like Initial graphics or Primary display. This should be set to AGP or PCIe.
