I have decided to treat myself to the iRiver pmp 140 mp3/4 player

I have decided that in anticipation of its arrival that I would like to turn some of my DVD collection into a format the player can play ready to enjoy by just sending to the device. I am interested in any software that can do this for free preferably and that will play on the device straight away.

Also if anyone has this device I would welcome any reviews of it or comments about it.

Thanks for any advice or suggestions,

its a long process.

to convert mpeg1 (vcd) to mp4 or 3gp (same thing i think) files to load onto my mobile phone i use nokia multimedia converter click here this works with any compatable mp4 or 3gp device not just nokia. and is quick to do.

to convert the dvd first though you need to rip it first, split it if need be and then convert the .vob files to mpeg1 format and then convert this againto 3gp or mp4 and this will take some time.

cant give you any more info than that here sorry, have a look around this site for more info click here

Thanks Huggyg71

Your information was invaluable. In 24 hours I have managed to encode 3 DVDs into formats suppored by the player, with another on the way.

Hopefully it will all work without to much messing around on the day.

Thanks so much
