Hi ...can anyone tell me in plain english how to burn my linux download onto a cd which I can then use to load onto my waiting pc?

I 've looked around the linux homepage and there's plenty of talk regarding ISO files but I'm scratching my head in frustration.
Its probably me being thick but I cant even make out what ISO stands for!!!

Any help much appreciated...pcgal

To make the Linux download into a bootable CD you have to Burn this ISO image. At the moment this image is useless and windows cannot recognise the file.

But CD burning software should be able to.

Which CD burning software do you use?

If you are using Nero, then just click File > Burn Image > Locate the ISO file. Then burn away.

When it's complete you'll be able to see the folder and files of Linux and the CD will aslo be bootable.

When asked to peform a MEDIA CHECK i would check the CD - If it's a PASS then install. If it is not then either burn again at a slower speed or downlaod the iso again.
