hi, please can someone explain to me something about making an image of my hard drive? iv heard it is ideal to make an image of your h.d incase of h.d failure? does this mean that should your h.d fail completely then using the image you could just transfer the image on to another h.d and you'd have your desktop back, complete with programmes and downloaded data?

You have already got a thread open with the same subject.maybe close this one as it will only confuse others.

Yes - it means exactly that.

It also functions as a normal backup, in that if you delete something accidentally, you can extract it from the image and copy it back onto your main drive.
