Making a corrupt partition visible on a disc

  normyac 14:01 02 Aug 06

I have two copies of XP installed on a single disc which I could boot from no problem. They were created with partition and boot magic. The second partition has become corrupt due to the disc starting to fail, although I can still currently boot from the first XP install.

I have a small amount of data on this corrupt partition which I would like to recover but partition magic makes this partition invisible when booting from the other copy of XP. I have tried using PM to make it visible but it checks the integrity of the partition first, finds the crc errors on the disc and aborts.

Can anyone suggest some tools I could use that would force the partition to be made visible, ignoring any crc errors, so I can see if any data can be recovered ?

Any help would be appreciated.
