Making of a Chart

Using Word 2003 I am trying to draw a chart but I’m having problems.

When I go to draw a single horizontal line with short drop downs lines every time I do it, I make a mess of it.

I want to draw a Family Tree starting with the Gt Gt Grandparents then dropping a leg down to their children and so on and so on.

Try using the "Arrow" option. Then remove the arrow head :-)

Why not use an Organization Chart - Insert > Drawing

Create your main horizontal line across the page (to get a straight line hold the shift key down). Create one small vertical line and copy and paste this as many times as required.

To fill in your relatives details create a Text Box, format this to show no lines. Again copy and paste this as many times as required. To Format a Text Box, right click the text box and select Format Text Box. On the Colour and Lines tab, selecte No Fill from the drop down box under Line/Colour.

Try Freeflow click here much easier than trying to do it with Word.

Is there not a organisation function in Excel for this type of thing.
=EINBETTEN("OrgChart";"")
Sorry I have only a german version in front of me so EINBETTEN needs to be translated to inbed I think but not 100% sure
