My friends PC gets a message saying about his mailbox is near limit of size.
He uses windows vista, how can we get his mailbox to stop getting these messages.
He uses Vista, on home pc, windows mail version 6 + Virgin mail

I suspect that his mail account is set up to save a copy of emails on the server and his allocated space is almost used up. Right-click on the name of his mail account in Windows Mail and choose Properties. Check the Advanced tab for the option to leave messages on the server. You can set the length of time to leave the messages before deleting.

Go to Virgin mail on-line (ie via the webmail access) and delete messages.

As Eric says, it's the server at Virgin that's getting full, and you need to delete them there, as well as change the setting in Windows Mail about leaving them on the server.
