Nintendo Switch review: Hands-on with the intuitive modular console and its disappointing games…
I use outlook Express and over the last 24hr I have recived over 3000 e mails from various mail delivery systams
Some of them have part of my address in them.
This is driving me mad now
Can anyone tell me how to stop it without changing my own E mail address.
Speak in the first instance to your ISP
They do have their own spam filter- make sure it is enabled.
Now something you can do.
Download Mail washer[Google for it] and set it up as appropriate.
Now do this.
Go to start- on the left side you see the programs in the start group
one of them will be your E-mail program
right click on it and click on 'remove from group'
This means you have to start the program after boot up.
But do not start it up yet.
Now do this every day or as often as you think you have mail.
Go to your ISP web site and log onto the web mail account and log on with your user name/password.
you will see all your mail sitting there waiting to come into the computer once the E-mail program is enabled.
Go through it and the stuff you do not want send to the 'blacklist or block room[different ISP use different names but it mean the Web mail will learn to look out for this stuff and stop it.
Then Delete it.
Then go back to your E-mail program fire it up and in will come only the mail you want.
When it is in shut the program down.
Repeat this procedure as often during the day as you wish or once a day its up to you, but over a period of days you will find the stuff will clean up and only genuine mail will in the main come in.
You will always get some - once your address is out there it come in -but go the web check route none will come to your computer in box.
Long winded I know- but so is getting rid of unwanted junk as you have found out.
In addition to my lengthy tale above
Download and install Mozilla Thunderbird
This E-mail programs is not so vulnerable to being got at.
Though it will still take in what ever is on the server
So do both.
