Over a three day period I have had 40 returned emails that I didn’t send in the first place and all were from filters which rejected them for reasons such terrorist or pornographic content, neither of which have ever been on my computer Can anyone tell me what is causing this and how can I stop it happening. I am using XP Professional windows with Outlook Express any help would be appreciated, I have internet security installed

It possibly is your account hs been compromised and you(they) are just sending out to all on your contact list .Are they legitimate known address they are going to ?. When this happened to me in Hotmail changing the password fixed it

It is possible that a spammer is spoofing you e-mail address and it appears to come form you but actually hasn't. If you are getting mail delivery failures then the spammer is probably just sending to random e-mail addresses rather than ones in your address book. I used to get many like this but they died down and disappeared completely when I changed ISP and e-mail address.

As a precaution change you password.
