mad.exe corrupt file

  kpr 18:24 29 Dec 04

This has started appearing when I first boot up pc.
A box appears with the following:
mad.exe - corrupt file
"The file or directory\Program Files\AOL\BroadbandCheckUp\WWWROOT\RC_OptionCats.html is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility"

I have ran broadband check up and no problems are found.
What is this and what should I do?

Have you run chkdsk?

Sorry - How do I do that.
PC's scare me!

Open My Computer. Right click on the C: drive, select Properties. On the Tools tab, Error Checking, click the Check Now button. Tick Automatically fix file system errors and click the Start button.

Open 'My computer', right click on your 'C' drive, and from the menu that opens left click on 'properties'. From the new window that comes up click on the 'tools' tab, and then left click on 'check now' button in the 'error checking' section. Tick the box 'automatically fix error' then click on 'start' button.
