Could be the HOT WEATHER!!

Potentially restricted Air Vents (fluff) and dust collecting on the cooling fins.

Open task manager - then processes. What is the system idle process percentage. Is it in the 90's. If it isnt what is eating the cpu?

When did you last defrag your hard drive?

Could also be a warning that the fan bearings are on their way out.

My AMD 64 cooling fan is running consistently at over 6000rpm at around 53C. I think it`s the weather but will be guided by greater experience.
